Big Website Portfolio Update
Head over to my Portfolio page to view over 30 new paintings that I’ve completed in the last four months. It’s been a wonderfully creative and prolific time! Etsy shop updates will happen in the next few days. Enjoy!
Today’s WIP…

A painting for the chakra series… “Manipura, I Do”, for the solar plexus chakra.
(much acknowledgement and appreciation for the influence of work by amazing artist Faith Evans-Sills in her book “Painting the Sacred Within”)
Today’s WIPs…

Abstracted San Francisco…
A bit more graphic, bright, and hopeful… reminding me of hills, fog, sunsets, bridges, secret stairways, twisty roads, downtown, and the bay.

Another “Zalika” painting…

I’m really enjoying the restraint of these colors and small marks combined with the feathery way of moving my brush (even using a brush instead of fingers can be unusual for me 😉).
Based on the online class, Abstract Bliss with Faith Evans-Sills and Mari Rose McDonough.
Deep in discovery mode…

I’m deep in discovery mode today playing with colorways that are new to me… I have to admit that a few dissonant combos make me cringe but there is also some really juicy exciting color blending here that I’ll definitely be using in the near future. Going to get some coffee and stare at these awhile…
Zalika Marrakech

I spent the last three days playing with these cityscape paintings based on a class from the beautiful painter Faith Evans Sills, “Luscious Layered Cityscapes”.
We used gorgeous collage papers as the first layer and colorways and mark making on top based on the colors and patterns of Marrakech, Morocco.
I forgot how much I love love love collage and playing with paper. I’m so energized to paint small again… There is a sharp focus and freeing flow that comes with working small and in a series that is relaxing and feels so vital.
By the way, the title “Zalika Marrakech” is arabic for “Wonderously Beautiful Marrakech”… Can’t wait to travel in the future!
